(Don't forget---today is the last day to enter the 30 Day Shred Giveaway!)
The Wednesday before I left for Israel, I partook in what I knew would be my last Anthro sale day for almost three weeks. Like many fans of Anthropologie, I look forward to new markdowns and really enjoy sorting through the website and stores for hidden treasures. I ended up visiting all four Manhattan Anthropologies on Wednesday. I'd only planned on seeing two, but when I found crazy markdowns at both (Lynx and Leo dress for $10 what what?) I started to wonder if maybe the NYC stores were cleaning out their back rooms and shouldn't I take advantage of the subsequently low prices?
My outfit was poorly designed for walking. First, the skirt part of the Southward Stop Shirtdress constantly rides up when I wear tights and walk. I know this. Yet I still wore tights and walked. And it was windy. This led to constant, self-conscious checks to see if I was accidentally flashing the viewing public.
Secondly, my shoes, new $25 thingies from Target (here), turned into little instruments of torture after about two hours. To be fair, I probably walked the equivalent of two miles or so, but STILL, by the time I got home I could barely take a step. True story: I took a cab four blocks from a subway to an Anthro because I could not walk that far in my shoes. And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why it's worth it to spend a bit of extra money on a decent pair of shoes.
This is the way I was walking by the end of the day.
