Here's to 2011!

Happy New Year, everyone! I’m still in Atlantic City, with plans to leave today or tomorrow. My internet access has been sporadic and I refuse to pay $13 to Donald Trump for the privilege of using the internet in his casino. I feel as though I've been missing tons of comments I'd like to make on other folks' blogs, but I've been keeping up (mostly) on mobile RSS and will try to catch up once I'm fully back.

I’ve been having a great time, though. Had a shopping day on Thursday and was happy to see that both BCBG and Kenneth Cole were having a 50% off everything sale. Nabbed a few cute things (including a skirt for $5!) that I’m sure you’ll be seeing soon. It certainly didn't hurt that I won a poker tournament for a nice chunk of change, too. :-)

In the meantime, here are a few things I’ve worn. I had a fabulous New Year's Eve outfit planned involving the Twinkle Twinkle dress, but when I tried it on in my hotel I realized that it's DEFINITELY at least one size too big, and I can no longer pretend it's not. I'm gonna have to try to trade my NWT size 6 for a 4. Anybody? Bueller?

Romantic Italian Dinner Outfit
(Worn to Chef Vola's - review forthcoming)

I felt like a ballerina in this outfit, perhaps in part because the bodysuit is named the "Third Position Bodysuit." Either way, this skirt just makes me feel purely p.r.e.t.t.y. and I absolutely love it.

The shoes were not ideal; I foolishly failed to pack ANY flats except my roll-up flats, so I didn't have too many options here. The roll-ups are great in a pinch, but as you can see from their lack of shape, they are really not a very good full-time shoe.

Top: Third Position Bodysuit (Anthro)
Skirt: Glowing Leaf by Floreat (Anthro)
Necklace: Voyage to the Moon (Anthro)
Tights: Cockle Shells tights (Anthro)
Shoes: Roll-ups by the Gap
Earrings: J. Crew
Barrettes: Gossamer Gardenia Hairclips (Anthro)
Belt: Anthro Tweed something or other
Watch: Appetime
Purse: Coach (I won enough money for this purse in AC a year ago when my 7-8 diamonds outflopped pocket aces)

Shopping Day Outfit

Honestly, this outfit struck me as absolutely nothing special, but I got TONS of compliments on every component of it (except the shoes), and got hit on by several security guards. Why? No clue whatsoever.

Shirt: Eze Su Mer (Anthro)
Skirt: Paper Boy (Anthro)
Belt: Animal Crossing (Anthro)
Shoes: Roll-up flats (Gap)
Earrings: Stone Mine Drops in Coral (Anthro)
Ring: BCBG
Tights: Foxy Tights (Anthro)

Eventually, I replaced the roll-up flats with a sale purchase, although these aren't quite ideal either. For $20, they'll do the trick.

Oops, thought you said In a Twinkling, not Twinkle Twinkle - darn you, Anthro, and your similar names! :P Hope you find your dress!! Love your ballerina inspired outfit for dinner, it's very romantic! :P

I love your top outfit. I am kicking myself for not getting that skirt. :)

Looking cute as always, Mo! Can't wait to read your restaurant review. I'm going to AC in January and have reservations at Fornelletto at the Borgata. Have you been?

Mandy: It was so frustrating to search for blogs about the Twinkle Twinkle dress while I was debating about whether to buy it...I kept coming up with results for the Twinkling Dress!

Ady: The skirt was definitely a popularity-inspired find, but once I tried it on I fell in love with it.

Lee! I will be posting the restaurant review by Wednesday, I think. I haven't eaten at the Borgata yet, but I've heard their restaurants are very good. Then again, I think it's hard to screw up Italian food, so I may be biased.

You look great in your Glowing Leaf Skirt! I was unable to find one at the amazing tag sale price of $35, and was kicking myself for not buying it full price when I had the chance. I just won the skirt on Ebay for $61, which I'm very excited about. A bit more than I wanted to pay, but I think worth it for this gorgeous skirt. You've help to convince me that it was a worthwhile purchase! I am excited for it to come...

Happy New Year!

Jamie: I'm a huge fan of this skirt! Now that I've experienced it, I'd probably pay quite a bit more than the tag sale price for it. It beautifully toes the line between fancy/formal and everyday pretty.
